Black Cable Ties (PA6.6) – Limited UV Resistance for Industrial and Trade Applications
Black cable ties made of high-quality polyamide 6.6 (PA6.6) offer a reliable solution for bundling, securing, and organizing cables, wires, and components. Thanks to the addition of carbon black, black cable ties are, compared to natural-colored versions, moderately UV-resistant and protected for several years of outdoor use. They combine high tensile strength with versatile applications in trades, workshops, and industry.
Technical Specifications & Benefits
-
Limited UV resistance: Thanks to their built-in carbon black content, these cable ties can withstand sunlight and weather conditions when used outdoors for at least 3 years (depending on the intensity of sunlight).
-
Premium material: Made from phthalate-free, halogen-free polyamide 6.6 (PA6.6).
-
High tensile strength: Reliable hold under mechanical stress in accordance with relevant safety standards.
-
Tested fire performance: Meets standard fire safety requirements for industrial and trade applications.
-
Easy to use: Ergonomic design for quick manual installation or precise tightening and flush cutting with cable tie pliers.
Typical Applications
-
Electrical Installation & Control Panel Construction: Bundling and structured routing of cable harnesses.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What does “conditionally UV-resistant” mean for black cable ties?
Black cable ties contain carbon black, which absorbs UV radiation more slowly. As a result, they withstand sunlight outdoors significantly longer than white or natural-colored ties (typically at least 3 years). However, they are considered moderately UV-resistant, as UV radiation can still cause the material to become brittle over very long periods of time (many years of continuous exposure). For extreme long-term applications (e.g., 10+ years on solar installations), special plastics such as ETFE are required.
What is the best way to work with PA6.6 cable ties?
The cable ties are easy to thread and tighten by hand. For large-scale commercial installations, we recommend using cable tie pliers:They set the exact tension and cut the end of the tie flush,to prevent cuts from sharp edges.
Are black cable ties halogen-free?
Yes, polyamide 6.6 is inherently halogen- and silicone-free. Black PA6.6 cable ties also offer excellent temperature resistance as well as resistance to oils, greases, and mild solvents.
